UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site
・Yamamiya Sengen Jinja shrine
This shrine is thought to be the location where Mt.Fuji itself is enshrined as a deity.
Even though many components of the World Heritage Site in Mt.Fuji area are related to ancient ritual style, this shrine is the oldest shrine among all the worship sites of the "kami" (God) of Mt.Fuji .
There is no main hall within its precincts, but a spot called yohaijo you can worship Mt.Fuji directly just like ancient people did.
Murayama Sengen Shrine
This shrine was once a climbing trail to Fuji and the center of Shugendo (Buddhism training in the sacred mountain).
A massive cedar and a ginkgo tree there in the shrine are really awesome. They are designated natural monuments by the prefecture.
There are also Dainichido stand in the precincts.
